The £2.7m redevelopment of the Market Hall wasn't just about the building, but announcing to the world that we have something special here in Scarborough.
We were delighted to welcome the Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu to the market today.
He stopped off during a visit to Scarborough to check out the Seafood Social, our new café on the market gallery.
Whilst there he sampled some of the café’s delicious seafood and we were all serenaded by the amazing Pearl of Africa choir.
What a special day for the market!
Seafood Social is much more than a café selling tasty seafood treats. The café also supports the Rainbow Centre, a local charity helping homeless people on the coast.
