A glorious 15ft Christmas tree has been erected in the Market with 2000 lights – this is a giving tree donated by Seafood Social in aid of the Rainbow centre and people are invited to donate gifts for children of families in crisis. Gifts are to be placed under the tree marked as to whether they are for a boy or girl.

Local artist Gabrielle Naptali created the sculpture Archway for the Children (Portal to the Way) to highlight the amount of plastic left behind on Scarborough beach and attitudes towards 'throwaway' single use plastics. It can be seen in Scarborough Market Hall during World Wellbeing week from Monday 24th June.
