Shifting Sands

Shifting Sands

Join Scarborough's alternative cinema community for an evening of immersive moving image, art, archive film and live music. (This is the third and final part of our Shifting Sands micro-festival of untold stories.) The doors open at 6.30pm, a chance for people to discover the secret corners of Scarborough's historic market hall vaults. The event will showcase rare archive film of life on the Yorkshire Coast, a chance to examine the history that makes this special place home. We are welcoming a special guest artist, one of Newcastle's most exciting new musicians Me Lost Me. She is exploring women artists of the north east and linking her research to how we experience archives, voices and water. She will perform her spellbinding electro-folk music to remarkable images of life on the Yorkshire Coast. The archive film will feature people, places and play in Scarborough, Whitby and rural life. It will be a new way to experience archive film, learn how the environment is shaping the way we live, and listen to our community's unheard voices. * about sea/film: http://www.seafilmscarborough.com/ ** about our zine call-out - submissions closing soon: https://twitter.com/SeaFilm1/status/1205460307507908613 *** about our guest musician: http://www.melostme.com/ **** advance tickets are £5, and will be on sale via Eventbrite asap ***** for more information email seafilmscarborough@gmail.com ****** our partners include Scarborough Market Hall, Scarborough Maritime Heritage Centre, Yorkshire Film Archive, The National Lottery, Film Hub North.
