Local artist Gabrielle Naptali created the sculpture Archway for the Children (Portal to the Way) to highlight the amount of plastic left behind on Scarborough beach and attitudes towards 'throwaway' single use plastics. It can be seen in Scarborough Market Hall during World Wellbeing week from Monday 24th June.
Scarborough Market Hall has been chosen as a location for a Tourist Information Point.
A Tourist Information Point offers visitors to Scarborough a good selection of tourism leaflets and information alongside a courtesy phone to a dedicated Tourism Bureau team.
The Tourism Bureau team are available;
- 7 days a week from April - September - Monday - Sunday, 9am - 5pm (expect Wednesdays when they open at 9.30am).
- 6 days a week from October - March - Monday - Saturday, 9am - 5pm (expect Wednesday's when they open at 9.30am).
Tourist Information Points are not manned. The nearest manned Tourist Information Point is at the Open Air Theatre Box Office opposite Peasholm Park.
